Religious Liberty

I appreciate the March 14 editorial — “A Threat to Religious Liberty” — describing the Alabama Accountability Act as a threat to the religious liberty of Alabamians. Your editorial is a practical application of a Baptist tenet that goes all the way back to Thomas Helwys. It is principled, informative, insightful and wise. It is an immensely courageous piece of journalism.

Thank you, Dr. Terry. You have done an important service for all Alabamians, including those Baptists among us who have forgotten their heritage. I hope your editorial will energize Alabama Baptists to resist legislation of this kind.
