Singer/songwriter encourages students to make wise choices

As singer/songwriter Moriah Peters performs concerts around the country, she is sharing a powerful message with students about the importance of standing up for their belief in Christ.

“There weren’t many Christians in my high school,” Peters said. “Many times, my classmates ridiculed and interrogated me about my beliefs. Even though I had accepted Christ at a young age, I never had to defend my faith to anyone before this time. As I began to search for the answers to their questions, it really strengthened my faith. I now realize that this experience gave me the opportunity to make my faith my own.”

In 2012, Peters released her debut album, “I Choose Jesus,” and toured with the Rock and Worship Roadshow.

“The overall theme of this album is about making a choice,” Peters said. “The songs are about being in different circumstances and choosing Jesus in each situation.”

Through her music and message, Peters hopes to encourage teenage girls to make wise choices in their relationships. In addition to performing concerts and writing songs, Peters attends Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.

“During concerts, I want to remind people that God has an amazing plan and a purpose for their lives and that He wants to make His Son known through us,” Peters said. “When we’re going through a crazy time or feeling frustrated, we have to remember that we’re living for something that will last for eternity. I wrote the song, ‘Well Done,’ as reminder that the road is hard sometimes, but whatever we go through, it will all be worth it to hear Jesus say, ‘well done.’”
