North Point Community Church, Alpharetta, Ga., just keeps rolling along with culturally relevant music for all ages. On April 10 they released their first music project aimed at elementary-aged children, “Shine!” That the record debuted at the No. 4 spot on iTunes Children’s Music chart says much about the quality, energy and excitement in the new album.

Featuring many from North Point’s impressive set of artists and musicians, including Dove Award-winner Seth Condrey, “Shine!” sounds as current as anything Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift or One Direction has to offer. If you’re thinking Disney with lyrically uplifting, God-centered messages, you’re pretty close. Our kids are going to love this music.

I continue to be wowed by the quality of the writing, performing and production of North Point’s musical outreach. This may well be the musical model for reaching a lost world through the local church.

Certainly, I’ve found few churches consistently producing music at this level of relevance and quality. Let’s hope they continue for a long time.
