Ready to Fly

It is assumed that the sound of most artists will “mature” as time goes by, but it seems as if FFH has stumbled upon a fountain of youth with regard to its sound. From one album to the next, FFH has maintained a youthful flavor that many will find invigorating. This speaks volumes about the group’s ability to reach younger audiences. “Ready to Fly,” the group’s fourth album to date, showcases the brilliant pop hooks that have become the signature sound of FFH.
The only knock on this album is that it tends to be lyrically stale, an observation that Deibler owns up to. The song “Never Gonna Be Alone” begins with the lyric, “You may think this song is a little trite/ You may be right/ But I say we’re all the same/ We all want the same things out of life.”
“Ready to Fly” is a good album by one of Christian music’s most popular acts. Its optimism is infectious, and its catchy melodies are sure to lodge themselves in your head for days on end. “Ready to Fly” reminds us of what it means to live life with great expectations of what God has in store for us all.
