NEW YORK — An attempt to expand “buffer zones” around New York abortion clinics failed Nov. 26.
A federal appeals court ruled that a lower court went too far when it allowed the expansion of “no protesting” zones around clinics in Rochester and Buffalo. The expanded buffer zones would effectively eliminate all pro-life demonstrations, the court observed.
The court also struck down a provision banning the use of sound amplifiers during pro-life demonstrations.
