December CP gifts down from previous year

NASHVILLE — Gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention’s  (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) in December of $14,610,892.95 were 4.81 percent below the total for December 2000, according to Morris H. Chapman, SBC Executive Committee president.

December’s $14,610,892.95 in CP Missions gifts to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America was $738,765.15 below December 2000 gifts of $15,349,658.10.

In year-to-date CP giving, $43,363,572.33 has been received, compared with $43,638,073.68 in 2000-01, marking a $274,501.35 or .63 percent decrease.

For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation budget, the December receipts of $14,610,892.95 were below the budgeted $14,858,239,91, or 98.34 percent of budget.
