Mountain Gospel

Promises
Traditional/Sierra Nashville

Consisting of southern gospel music icon Eddie Deitz, his daughter April and her husband, Eric Lambert, Mountain Gospel is one of the industry’s top up-and-coming family groups. This trio has a certain vocal artfulness, individually and collectively, that will touch your heart. Never has that been more evident than on Mountain Gospel’s latest project, “Promises.”

This recording has no weaknesses and features the diverse vocal style for which Mountain Gospel is known. Song selection, arrangement and performance are excellent. The album provides a most pleasant listening experience and showcases the astute songwriting skills of Vicki Gerard Gillard, Dwight Bradshaw, Robert Deel and Eddie Deitz.

April’s beautiful alto vocals shine on the project’s highlight song, “Another Tear,” which has the potential to soar on the national radio airplay charts. Eddie’s
hickory-rich baritone voice has never sounded better than on the possible hit song, “How Could It Be.” Mountain Gospel’s sound is a mixture of southern gospel, country and bluegrass which is aptly personified by Eric’s lead vocals on the moderate tempo “Into the Fire.” Troy Burns makes a guest appearance on the recording by masterfully adding bass harmony and second verse lead on the closing number, “Bless Me Indeed.”

The song repertoire also includes six more great songs — “How Can You Worry,” “Come to the Banquet,” “Oh Happy Day,” “Send Him Back to the Cross,” “Under the Blood” and “Just for Me.”
