The Eleventh Hour

In many respects, Jars of Clay is a band in a league of its own.
It is hard to draw comparisons when it comes to the depth and creativity incorporated in the band’s music.
They possess a sonority that is unlike most popular artists, yet they continue to draw audiences in with the ease of the Pied Piper.
Their latest project, “The Eleventh Hour,” remains true to form for the group while it continues to explore the band’s ever-evolving blend of faith and song.
The themes of waiting and anticipation are prevalent throughout the appropriately titled album, particularly with regard to the works of God.
The song “Something Beautiful” captures the thoughts of one waiting for God to work in him.
It pleads, “Change this something normal into something beautiful.” “The Edge of Water” expresses a strong anticipation for the day when Christ returns.
It is through waiting and anticipating that our doubts and worries are turned to hope and trust in God.
Some say that this is perhaps the best Jars of Clay album since the band’s self titled debut. “The Eleventh Hour” is dynamic in candor and creativity.
Hope and divine expectations form the foundation upon which the lyrical content and musical context of each song are built.
