Religious advocacy group earns win for ‘Flip it Forward’

ATLANTA — The Atlanta, Ga.-based SunTrust Banks, Inc., reversal of a decision to cut ties with Benham Real Estate Group owned by David and Jason Benham is one example of Faith Driven Consumer’s recent advocacy effort.

The Benham brothers’ upcoming new HGTV series “Flip it Forward” was cancelled after the network learned the Benhams, who are professing believers in Jesus Christ, had voiced concerns related to homosexual rights and abortion in past public events.

Faith Driven Consumer is the group behind the
IStandWithPhil.com movement, which played a leading role in Phil Robertson’s return to “Duck Dynasty.” The recent campaign,
FlipThisDecision.com supporting the Benham twins, had more than 19,000 supporters at press time.

When SunTrust announced it was severing ties with Benham Real Estate Group, Faith Driven Consumer deemed the action discriminatory and launched a public outcry, which led SunTrust Banks to reverse course.

“We are grateful to those many thousands who came together and collectively raised their voices in a united call for tolerance, fairness and equality for all Americans,” said Chris Stone, founder of Faith Driven Consumer and a certified brand strategist.
