Beech Grove rededicates church to Christ

“Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who built it,” read Pastor Alan Compton to the congregation at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Haleyville. “Believing that the hand of God led in the organization and building of this church, let all people most solemnly unite in offering it again unto Him for His glory and honor.”

And the church all said, “We rededicate this house.”

The Vows of Rededication were part of the church’s 100th anniversary service held Sept. 11. Also during the three-hour service, the congregation saw a slideshow of photos from throughout the years, heard from a music trio and choirs and watched a historical skit put on by church youth.

Elizabeth Hill presented the church with a plaque on behalf of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, and Don Smith, director of missions for Winston Baptist Association, presented the church with a certificate on behalf of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
