WASHINGTON — More than 70 percent of white evangelicals think that when politicians commit immoral acts in their private lives it doesn’t have much effect on their ethics in government affairs, according to new research.
The Public Religion Research Institute and the Brookings Institution released the results of a recent survey that showed an increase in the number of U.S. citizens who believe that immoral acts done in private have no correlation to unethical acts he or she might commit once in office, according to The Christian Post.
Research shows that white evangelical protestants are much more likely to lean this way than they were five years ago. (TAB)
