Deporting Chaldean Christians ‘a death sentence’

WASHINGTON — Southern Baptist religious freedom advocate Russell Moore has joined other evangelical leaders in urging the Trump administration to stop its deportation of Christians to Iraq.

Recent reports have indicated the federal government has started the process of deporting Chaldean Christians back to their homeland, where the United States government has designated the murderous campaign of the Islamic State as genocide.

“This is wrong, wrong, wrong,” Moore said. “Deporting these Iraqi Christians is nothing less than a death sentence.” (BP)
