Using technology to enhance worship is a growing trend in Alabama Baptist churches. Becoming familiar with the effective ways to use technology can be challenging and finding help in implementing those technologies is difficult.
The Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) office of worship leadership is hosting OneDay conferences in three locations around the state during the month of May to assist churches in the area of worship technology. All three conferences will address three worship technology areas — worship presentation software (ProPresenter), worship ministry management (Planning Center Online) and worship sound system technology (in-ear monitors and STEM tracks).
The OneDay conferences will be held:
• May 3 at Bethel Baptist Church, Dothan.
• May 8 at Eastern Shore Baptist Church, Daphne.
• May 10 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Birmingham.
“All of these technologies have possible application to help worship leaders and enhance worship in all sizes of churches and churches of varied worship practices,” explained Keith Hibbs, director of SBOM’s worship leadership office. “Praise team members and full-time and part-time worship leaders will benefit from the conferences.”
Conference schedules will include beginning and advanced sessions in each topic in the morning and a repeat of the beginning session after lunch to enable participants to attend more than one topic. Sessions will be led by worship leaders in Alabama who have a thorough day-to-day familiarity with the different technologies. (SBOM)
