Robert A. Baker and John M. Landers. Nashville: Broadman & Holman, 2005. 468 pp. (Hardback).
This quite notable church history is indeed a classic inasmuch as it has been a readable text for introductory-level studies of Christian history for more than 40 years.
In this third edition, Landers, a former student of Baker, will help students grasp the basic contours of Christian history while keeping them from becoming lost in the maze of details.
New chapters here focus on the worldwide missionary movement and controversy in the emerging world (South Africa and Latin America).
Baker died in 1992.
