Alabama Baptist State Convention 2013 annual meeting – one business item

Only one motion was brought to the convention floor during the recent annual meeting, but it was ruled out of order.

Paul Hicks, pastor of West Jefferson Baptist Church, Quinton, asked the convention to change the annual meeting from a Tuesday–Wednesday format to a Friday–Saturday format.

Henry Cox, chairman of the Committee on Order of Business, said the motion was not in order because it conflicts with convention bylaws.

“The time and place for every convention is proposed by the committee and then voted on by the convention in session,” Cox said.
