Alabama pastor named leader of Baptist Educators

SHELBY, N.C. — Paul Reitzer, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Sprott, and Newbern Baptist Church, Cahaba, was elected president of the Fellowship of Baptist Educators at a recent board of directors meeting in Kentucky. In July, Reitzer replaced James Keefer in coordinating the efforts of the North Carolina-based organization, which collects and ships Christian literature worldwide, oversees a pen-pal ministry and arranges short-term missions trips for American educators.

Reitzer has earned degrees from LeTourneau, Baylor and Florida State universities and has taught at several colleges including Judson College in Marion. In addition to his pastorates, he serves on two Baptist World Alliance committees.
