Alabamians appointed by NAMB

Three short-term missionaries with ties to Alabama have been appointed by the North American Mission Board (NAMB).

They were appointed under the US/C-2 program, in which young adults serve two years in the United States or Canada.

Allison L. Godwin serves as a resort missionary in Charleston, S.C.

She builds relationships through ministries on beaches, parks and local festivals that give her opportunities to share the gospel.

Godwin, an Alabama native, is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

She previously worked as a schoolteacher in McDonough, Ga. She also has been a summer missionary in Clarksville, Va., and Kharkov, Ukraine, served as Baptist Campus Ministries missions coordinator and camp counselor for her home church, Northport Baptist Church.

Kelli  R. Hill serves as a missionary in Waterbury, Conn., where she works with Waterbury Baptist Ministries as they minister to the needs of the Willow Street local community.

Among the ministries is an after-school program involving 50 children.

Hill, of Prattville, is a graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery.

She is a member of Camellia Baptist Church, Prattville.

Bradley M. Simmons serves as campus evangelist coordinator in Wichita, Kan., where he works on the staff of Heart of Kansas Southern Baptist Association to start campus ministries at area colleges.

Simmons, who considers Leighton home, is a graduate of the University of Alabama.

He also served as president of Baptist Campus Ministries in Huntsville and is a member of Hatton Baptist Church in Leighton.
