An Alabama pastor and his wife were recently appointed as missionaries to South America through the International Mission Board (IMB).
Jerry Hall and his wife, Judy, were among 54 new IMB missionaries appointed Jan. 25 during a service at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Va.
During the ceremony, Jerry Rankin, IMB president, told the missionaries, “You are here being commissioned because of your obedience to God’s call, and you can be assured of the promise of the Great Commission, that His presence will go with you and empower you.”
Hall, pastor of Center Grove Baptist Church in Cullman since 1994, earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pineville, Ky., and a master’s degree in divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Before his time at Center Grove, he served as pastor of Brantley Baptist Church, Brantley.
In South America, he will serve in the area of evangelism and church planting.
Judy Hall, who also studied at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in Pine-ville, Ky., will serve in community and home outreach.
Prior to her appointment, she was employed with Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries since 1991. She served as an office clerk then as benefits manager.
The Halls have two grown sons, Quincy and Daniel. (TAB)
