Alabamians tapped to serve at SBC, nominated for posts

Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) President Bobby Welch has announced members of the SBC Committee on Committees for the June 13–14 annual meeting in Greensboro, N.C. 
   
The SBC Committee on Nominations also announced its list of nominees to serve on various SBC boards, and several Alabama Baptists are among the nominees.
   
• John H. Killian, pastor of Maytown Baptist Church, Maytown, has been designated to serve as Committee on Committees chairman. Craig Carlisle, pastor of Central Park Baptist Church, Decatur, will serve on the Committee on Committees.
   
• John P. Harvill Jr. of Saraland and Bryan E. Easley, minister of administration at East Memorial Baptist Church, Prattville, will each be nominated to serve a second term on the SBC Executive Committee. 
  
• James T. “Tim” Wilkes, member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church, Mobile — GuideStone Financial Resources, term expiring 2010.
   
• Linda J. Applegarth, member of Taylor Road Baptist Church, Montgomery — International Mission Board, term expiring 2007.
   
• Doug Chappelle, pastor of Valley Grande Baptist Church, Valley Grande — International Mission Board, term expiring 2010.
   
• Larry E. Gipson, pastor of First Baptist Church, Oneonta — North American Mission Board, term expiring 2007.
   
• Rickey E. Camp, pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church, Mobile — North American Mission Board, term expiring 2010.
   
• Ellie W. Ficken, member of Vaughn Forest Baptist Church, Montgomery, will be nominated to serve a second term on the board of the North American Mission Board.
  
• Rick Evans, pastor of Dalraida Baptist Church, Montgomery, will be nominated to serve a second term on the board of LifeWay Christian Resources.

• Clint C. Pressley, pastor of Dauphin Way Baptist Church, Mobile — Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky., term expiring 2011.
   
Nominees will serve if elected by the messengers to the SBC annual meeting held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.
