Aldridge, G. Morrell

G. Morrell Aldridge, co-pastor of Crossbridge Community Church, Helena, died Dec. 29. He was 60.

Aldridge received a bachelor of science in religion from Samford University in Birmingham in 1973 and master of divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984.

He served as pastor of Southern Baptist churches in Alabama and Mississippi for 42 years and, through church-planting efforts, started two churches: Riverside Baptist, Helena, in 1996 and Crossbridge Community, Helena, in 2003.

“His ministry hallmark has always been to reach the wounded and hurting and help them find the forgiveness and kindness of Jesus Christ,” said Bruce Squires, co-pastor of Crossbridge. “Brother ‘Mo’ loved to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a very fruitful ministry here in Helena.”

Aldridge is survived by his wife of 41 years, Deanna; one daughter; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.  (TAB)
