April CP giving below last year’s numbers

NASHVILLE — Gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention’s Cooperative Program in April were 10.72 percent below gifts for April 2001. Year-to-date support for CP missions, however, remains 79 percent ahead of totals at this same point last year.

April’s $14,017,168.91 in CP gifts to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America compared to $15,701,065.71 in April 2001, a difference of $1,683,896.80.

In year-to-date giving, $105,759,449.38 has been received, compared with $104,929,589.33 in 2000–01, an increase of .79 percent or $829,860.05. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.

For the SBC Cooperative Program Allocation Budget, the April receipts of $14,017,168.91 were 94.34 percent of the budgeted $14,858,239.92, or $841,071.01 under the budget goal.
