Former state convention president John Thweatt to nominate Ryan Whitley for a second one-year term as second vice president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention.

Alabama Baptist State Convention president Craig Carlisle has agreed to serve a second one-year term in the role if elected by messengers to the upcoming annual meeting in November.

Following testimonies related to Jeff Iorg’s ministry service through the years, Iorg shared during the opening session of the Exec Comm board of trustees meeting how he believes Southern Baptists at their best are “a force for good.”
“War is an opportunity to transform a nation,” Slavik Pyzh said. “We are praying God will give us peace, give us victory, but more than anything else [a transformed nation]. … I need to ask you to adjust your prayers [for that as well].”
