We went to dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. The food is usually great there and the service is prompt. But this particular night was different.
On a recent vacation to one of Alabama’s beautiful gulf beaches, Sharon and I were blissfully parked in our beach chairs watching the endless waves roll in.
Recently, I was entertaining my young grandkids at our house. Out of the blue, my 10-year-old granddaughter looked up at me and, with the sincerest of expressions on her face, asked “Grampa, what is it like to be old?”
The desk in my home office is covered with photos, most of them of my family. The biggest one is a portrait of my mom and dad, which sits directly above and in front of me.
