At least 22 people were killed and more than 100 others wounded when a worship service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Philippines, was bombed Jan. 27. Two bombs went off, one as worshippers met and the other as they were fleeing. Several soldiers were killed in the second blast. Members of the Islamist rebel group Abu Sayyaf, which claims allegiance to the Islamic State, took responsibility for the bombings in online postings. (MS)
