The 34 — including a police officer — were slain in raids May 5 and 9 in the Nigerian states of Kogi and Plateau, Christian Daily International-Morning Star News reported, referencing information from Truth Nigeria.

Muslim Fulani herdsmen are said to be the perpetrators.
But on May 10, residents and vigilantes in three villages — who had received advance intelligence — were able to thwart the Fulani Ethnic Militia’s planned attacks in Kaduna state, Truth Nigeria said.
The day prior, hundreds from the Fulani militia also encountered about 60 armed volunteers and 40 policemen who were defending the town of Barkin Ladi in Plateau state, Truth Nigeria reported.
“Fulani Ethnic militias were stopped from taking over the town, but eight Christians, including a police inspector, were killed,” Christian Daily-Morning Star quoted Truth Nigeria.
