Alabamian Chette LaRue Williams Sr. was honored as one of two distinguished alumni from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary during its alumni luncheon at the Southern Baptist Convention.
Williams, who earned the master of divinity degree from New Orleans Seminary in 1993, currently serves as full-time campus director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Auburn University. Williams formerly served as president of IMPACT Ministries in Spartanburg, S.C., and as pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in New Orleans.
Paul Brooks, pastor of First Baptist Church in Raytown, Mo., received the other distinguished alumni award.
