Awin Baptist Church celebrates centennial anniversary

Awin Baptist Church celebrated its 100th anniversary June 14. The church sanctuary is the original structure with additional space added over the years. Keith Gambill, associational mission strategist for Butler Baptist Association, was the guest speaker. Additional special guests included Harold Smith, a former interim pastor. Deacon Jack Sadler accepted a commemorative plaque given to the church from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission by commissioner Jim Lambert. Lunch was provided following the service.
