Baptist Health System names two new executive

 

Two new senior executives will soon join Baptist Health System (BHS) as part of the organization’s restricting initiative. BHS has chosen Douglas C. Davenport as senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) and Mark H. Bryan as senior vice president of operations (COO).

Joining BHS as CFO July 1, Davenport will provide financial leadership to the system and all its entities. Davenport has more than 15 years of experience as a chief financial officer in health care organizations.

Most recently, Davenport served as senior vice president and CFO of the hospital division of MedCath, Inc., a 13-hospital national company based in Charlotte, N.C.

Previously, at Universal Health Services, he held CFO positions at the Valley Health System in Las Vegas, the George Washington University Hospital (Washington, D.C.) and Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo.

Prior to joining Universal, he was CFO of Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas and held Associate Administrator, CFO and other leadership positions at HealthTrust, Inc. hospitals in Oregon, Texas and Idaho.

Joining BHS July 26 as COO, Bryan will direct operational activities and programs to enhance performance of the BHS hospitals. Bryan is experienced in leading large health-care organizations.

For the past nine years, he has worked with Tenet South Florida Health System, most recently as the vice president/operations of the Palm Beach division. In this position Bryan managed six hospitals.

Prior to that, he was chief executive officer of Good Samaritan Medical Center, vice president of operations and finance for Tenet’s South Florida Region and vice president and CFO of Manatee Hospitals and Health System.
