Baptist stroke support group to meet

After the initial trauma of a stroke, survivors are often overwhelmed with the tissues and lifestyle changes even a mild stroke can bring.

Montclair Baptist Medical Center, Birmingham, hosts a stroke support group to allow stroke survivors and their caregivers to interact with other people who have experienced the same problems. The meetings, held every third Thursday of the month, feature times for sharing ideas and information as well as guest speakers and refreshments.

The next meeting will be July 21, 2-3:30 p.m. and will feature John Wilson, advocacy manager of Grassroots Stroke Advocacy. Wilson will discuss stroke legislation and the progress being made by the group.

The meetings are held at the Out-patient Rehab Center located at 720 Montclair Road. Parking is available in front of the building. For more information, call 1-877-222-7847.
