I would like to introduce you to the Chatinos. Though adorned in some of the most beautiful embroidery in southern Mexico and though rich in culture, the Chatino Indians, who live in the southern portions of the state of Oaxaca, are held captive to their animistic religions that have been combined with Catholicism over the years, as well as to violence that has started over the last few years concerning land rights.
There are no exact statistics as to how many Chatinos are evangelical Christians, but we do know that the number is less than 2 percent. Please pray for the Chatinos. Pray that they will find freedom and victory in Christ. Pray for workers who will be willing to go and live among the people and share the good news with them.
