Bivocational pastors conference to be held Sept. 21-22 in Birmingham

The 2018 Annual Celebration of the Bivocational and Small Church Leadership Network (BSCLN) will be held Sept. 21–22, 2018, at Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) national headquarters in Birmingham.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Serving the Servants” and will focus on encouraging local church pastors and wives. The conference begins with dinner on Friday, Sept. 21, followed by an evening of worship led by William Oakley, a 68-year veteran of ministry.

Saturday’s workshops will include breakout sessions on connecting with the community, finances for pastors, casting a vision, outreach and other topics. Participants will take a tour of the WMU facilities prior to morning worship. The conference concludes with lunch.

Conference leaders include Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director/treasurer of national WMU; pastors Bobby Clark of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Kenny Scott of Scott’s Hill, Tennessee; Joe Wright, executive director of BSCLN; and others.

In addition to WMU, the Center for Congregational Resources at Samford University is a ministry partner of the BSCLN Annual Celebration.
