Mike Blaylock, vice president for campus affairs at the University of Mobile (UM), died Dec. 29. He was 53.
Blaylock, who received his bachelor’s degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., and a master’s of Christian education from Luther Rice University in Lithonia, Ga., joined the UM staff in 1999.
In addition to authoring several books, Blaylock served as a motivational speaker for more than 20 Major League Baseball and National Football League teams, as well as businesses, professional organizations, universities and churches.
Blaylock was preceded in death by a daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya; two children; and one grandson. (TAB)
