The University of Mobile (UM) board of trustees elected UM alumnus and Dayspring Baptist Church, Mobile, Pastor David Johnson as chairman of the board during its semiannual meeting April 25 on the UM campus.
Johnson, a 1992 graduate of UM, was elected to serve a one-year term as chairman of the board, effective July 1.
Mike Tew of Mobile, president of S.J. & L. Contractors Inc., was elected as vice chairman, and Lindsey Boney of Daphne, chief financial officer of The Mitchell Co., was elected secretary. Board officers are elected to one-year terms and may serve up to two consecutive terms.
In addition to electing officers, the board approved a $19.7 million operating budget for 2006–2007.
