Credentials, Tellers, other items approved
Two committees, the Credentials Committee and the Tellers Committee, were appointed during the state convention’s opening session Nov. 14. New members to the Committee on Committees and the 2027 meeting date and location also were approved during the opening day.
State Convention President Buddy Champion announced the Credentials and Tellers committee appointments 30 days prior to the annual meeting in accordance with bylaw requirements, but messengers had to ratify the appointments.
- The Credentials Committee helps with problems regarding registration and seating of messengers. Serving were Charles Teague (chair), Sardis, Boaz; Jeff Gardner, Daphne; Morris Johnson, Integrity, Hueytown; Chad Middlebrooks, Mount Zion, Alexander City; Philip Morris, Chulafinnee, Heflin; George Smith, Pleasant Hill, Eclectic; and Brent Thompson, FBC Heflin.
- Tellers Committee members help convention officers tabulate convention votes. Serving were Roby Joplin (chair), Macedonia, Gadsden; Colt Hudson, Bellevue, Gadsden; Ryan Morris, FBC Hokes Bluff; Josh Noojin, College Heights, Glencoe; Ricky Self, Pineview, Harvest; Jeff Smith, Hillwood, Huntsville; and Bob Wilson, FBC Meridianville.
