Felicia Morgan’s announcement that she is not putting up Christmas decorations this year is met with dismay by her children. Her marriage has ended and she just doesn’t have the heart, but the kids are having none of it. Finally giving in, Leesha pulls out the ornaments and begins putting them on the tree. She has always started with the ornaments her husband gave her — one for each year they had been married.

This book by well-known Christian author Eva Marie Everson cleverly unwraps the story of Jackson and Felicia’s lives as Leesha unwraps the ornaments and remembers the milestones they represent. In the end (did anyone ever take so long to decorate a tree?) Felicia’s musings lead to a somewhat unexpected but very satisfying result.

“The Ornament Keeper” is a fairly short book but it packs a real punch.
