Book Writing Boot Camp set for Feb. 20–21

Birmingham author Denise George will be hosting The Book Writing Boot Camp in Birmingham on Feb. 20–21 for authors who are interested in book publishing and memoir-writing.

The first seminar, Memoir-Writing Magic, will take place Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., at Canterbury United Methodist Church, Mountain Brook. George will teach participants how to write a memoir in new and unique ways as well as how to turn lifetime memories into an interesting page-turner.

The second seminar, Self-Publishing vs. Traditional Publishing: The Major Advantages and Disadvantages of Each, will take place Saturday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., at Canterbury United Methodist. This seminar will focus on the differences between traditional publishing and new self-publishing options available to authors.

“I attended my first Boot Camp almost two years ago and have only missed one since … and I was at my book signing then,” said Cheryl Gore Pollard, Boot Camp participant and author.

Space is limited and registration is now open online. The first 20 people to register will receive a free PDF copy of George’s book “Getting Started: The Basic Foundations of Writing to Publish.” For more information or to register for The Book Writing Boot Camp, visit www.bookwritingbootcamp.org.

George is a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills. (Book Writing Boot Camp)
