When the men and women of Bremen Baptist Church gathered Oct. 2 to celebrate the church’s 50th anniversary, they did it with the kind of spirit that happens when a lot has been invested there.
God built their church, but the men of the church let their hands be the ones used to construct the building, working long nights together on the construction after finishing up work in the afternoon at their jobs. Their wives would bring meals while they worked.
So there was a lot of history to be celebrated when the West Cullman Baptist Association church gathered for a homecoming that Sunday. Pastor Terry Blankenship (see photo, right) brought the morning message, and Pat Musselwhite (see photo, left), a representative of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented the church with a plaque.
