‘Burning what?!’ Annual gathering in Black Rock Desert reminder of hope amid chaos.
In late August, about 80,000 people known as “Burners” will load up their vehicles with whatever they can cram into their ride and head toward “the middle of nowhere” in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
The Warrior crew were the only firefighters from Alabama to assist in the early days of search and rescue at Ground Zero following 9/11. Others from the state assisted in cleanup efforts, but these four were onsite before midnight 9/12/01.
