BWA Criticism

The Alabama Baptist newspaper gave a lot of coverage in the Aug. 11 edition to the 100th anniversary of BWA’s Baptist World Congress. In the article on former President Jimmy Carter’s speech to the group attending the meeting, your paper failed to mention all of Carter’s comments.

He was taking issue with the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) position on women serving as pastors, which he supports. If the BWA continues featuring speakers such as Carter that rebuke the SBC on important issues, they can expect the SBC to continue to be absent from their meetings.
