Reformation Celebration Features Composer K. Lee Scott: Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham presented “A Reformation Celebration of Hymns and Art” featuring one of America’s premier composers, K. Lee Scott, on Nov. 1 in Andrew Gerow Hodges Chapel.

This service featured hymns written by Scott, including “To God We Come in Prayer and Praise,” which was commissioned in honor of the late Hodges. Scott was accompanied by the choir of Mountain Brook Baptist Church, Birmingham; a brass quintet; timpani; and organ.

Beeson Divinity School Hosts Reformation Heritage Lectures: Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi, of Jos, Nigeria, gave three lectures for Beeson Divinity School’s annual Reformation Heritage Lectures in Birmingham on Nov. 1–3.

Kwashi lectured on the impact of the Reformation on Africa, African preaching and persecution.

Samford University Welcomes New Sorority: This fall Samford University in Birmingham welcomed 57 new members of Delta Delta Delta sorority, the latest addition to the campus’ thriving Greek life community. It is the first new sorority at Samford in about 20 years.
