Children throughout the state are invited for the 14th year to make homemade Christmas cards for the inmates at Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women. Many of the women are mothers and cherish anything made by a child.
Cards may be cutouts of old cards pasted on construction paper or original designs with short personal messages, including the child’s first name and age.
Cards should be brought or mailed by Nov. 22 to Birmingham Baptist Association, 750 Montclair Road, Birmingham, AL 35213. No envelopes are needed, as the cards will be handed directly to the women by Prison Fellowship volunteers.
Contact person is Mary Posey Thomas. For more information, call 205-853-1222.
