Spring Hill’s Carter dies at 81

William Thomas “Tom” Carter, minister on staff at Spring Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, for more than 40 years, died Dec. 21, 2016. He was 81.

Carter earned his bachelor’s degree from Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham. He held two master’s degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

He began his ministry at Spring Hill Baptist as minister of education and was serving as minister of senior adults at the time of his death. He also taught church administration at the University of Mobile. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy. He is survived by two children and one grandchild. (Hannah Muñoz)
