Orlando Health, Inc., announced Monday (Aug. 5) it has signed “a definitive agreement to purchase Tenet Healthcare’s majority interest in Brookwood Baptist Health.”
New Harmony Baptist Church in Phil Campbell has revival services running this week (each night at 7) and will wrap up with a special service celebrating the 65th anniversary of the church on Friday night (Aug. 9).
“What’s happening to the child welfare system in this state is, when parents are scared of their children, the judges are giving them to DHR,” said Nancy Buckner, DHR Commissioner.
ABDR chaplain Thelma Goolsby said it’s been “glorious and humbling” to see the way God has been at work in Huffman, Texas – 13 people have prayed to receive Christ since teams arrived July 11.
While funds have been allocated to the Alabama Department of Mental Health’s crisis centers throughout the state, there is still work to be done to fully cover all Alabama residents.

Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief work in Huffman, Texas, is “fast and furious,” said John Hayes, the ABDR white hat leader on site. And they’ve seen God at work — two people in the community have made decisions to follow Christ.
