As biblical literacy decreases, children’s ministry events like VBS give churches an opportunity to lay a spiritual foundation in the lives of those who attend and offer a valuable outreach to families in the community.
“We also want kids and families to have a deeper love for God’s Word. For many of us, God’s Word is an afterthought when it should be our lifeblood,” said Dave Ray.
Sissy Goff, executive director of Daystar Counseling Ministries in Nashville and co-host of the Raising Boys and Girls podcast, offers advice for parents and others to help children navigate grief following the Texas flooding disaster.
“I kept thinking about how the next generation doesn’t understand the Cooperative Program,” said Belinda Stroud, a children’s ministry specialist for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
