Center Point Baptist Church, Scottsboro, is a body of people who is “geared up and excited about the future,” said Wendell Dutton (right) following a visit to its Sept. 10 service. Dutton was there as a representative of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission to commemorate the church’s 175th anniversary.
A special guest of the 10:30 a.m. service was Dan Garland, director of pastoral ministries and church consulting for LifeWay Christian Resources, who brought the morning message. Garland also presented a certificate to the church on behalf of LifeWay, and a second commemorative certificate was presented by Dutton. Pastor David Moorman (left) accepted both certificates on behalf of the church.
Garland preached to a congregation of 600–700 at the Tennessee River Baptist Association church.
