MIAMI — The University of Miami head football coach Mark Richt gave more than just coaching advice to his players recently — he gave each of them a Bible.
“I just heard enough guys say they didn’t have one and some guys said they had older versions that were harder to understand,” Richt told local news outlets. Each Bible had a player’s name embroidered on the cover.
Richt said, “I told the guys, ‘It’s a choice. If you want to just leave it at the chair, you can. If you want to take it with you, you can. If you want to give it to somebody, you can.’”
Richt said he doesn’t try to make any of his players share his Christian beliefs, according to The Christian Post. (TAB)
