People sometimes ask how they should pray for missionaries. We certainly need prayer for safety and health. However, the purpose of missions is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations so all people will worship Him, so please pray that God may open a door.
A metal church building in a squatter village in Romachana had to be removed because it was in the path of a new road. Thankfully, the Lord knew this would happen and He already had a better plan. The chairperson in the settlement gave us temporary use of a large corner lot on the main road with high visibility.
Every church needs leaders and the Lord is providing those leaders at Romachana. These dedicated members do the practical things for our worship services.
In some churches here, Sunday School for children is a time only to sing songs, but Elaine sees the need to start a Bible teaching program for these children. She is doing chronological Bible-storying, which is a proven method for teaching both adults and children. She tells the Bible story in its context and then relates the story to God’s salvation plan in history.
In addition to diligent workers who help with the worship services, we want to identify and equip men who will be pastors, teachers and deacons in the Tswana churches.
