You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?” (Matt. 5:13)
That’s where Tactical Faith steps in with SALT, its annual Christian apologetics conference, to teach churches and Christians how to think biblically about current issues and matters of faith.
This year Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Birmingham, and Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham will host the two-day event April 24–25.
Speakers will include Doug Webster, professor of pastoral theology and Christian preaching at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham; Mark Coppenger, professor of Christian apologetics at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.; and Robert Stewart, professor of philosophy and theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. All speakers will share about why Christianity is the most reasonable worldview.
According to a Tactical Faith press release, SALT will address the questions, “What are evidences that the Church is not responding well to the critiques of culture and, given your own area of work, what are some of the more important things the Church needs to change in either what it thinks or in how it interacts with the culture (as a whole)?”
Breakout sessions
Breakout sessions during the event will be led by Steve Donaldson, director of computer science at Samford University and co-founder of Samford’s center for science and religion; Graham Cole, Anglican professor of divinity at Beeson; Ken Mathews, professor of divinity and Old Testament at Beeson; and Stewart.
