Decatur’s Waldrep opens House session with prayer

Decatur-based speaker and author Phil Waldrep opened the Oct. 17 legislative session of the United States House of Representatives with prayer.

“Today we pause to thank You for Your blessings. And to ask that You remind us that with these blessings come responsibilities,” Waldrep prayed.

Waldrep was invited to pray at the request of Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) who represents Alabama’s 5th Congressional district.

Waldrep is the founder of the Phil Waldrep Evangelistic Association.

“I am grateful to Congressman Mo Brooks for his nomination to be the guest chaplain for the United States House of Representatives,” said Waldrep. “This is an honor I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

Waldrep concluded his prayer by asking God to “help us find time to be Your hands and Your feet in a world that desperately needs love.” (Phil Waldrep Ministries)
