Deerfoot Baptist celebrates 25th anniversary

Twenty-five years ago the congregations of 85th Street Baptist Church and Mount Olive Baptist Church joined together to form Deerfoot Baptist Church, Trussville. The church celebrated that anniversary July 28. 

Pastor Glenn Sandifer preached during the special service and minister of music Ricky Buckner led worship. Wayne Scott, the church’s first pastor, shared memories on how the church began. 

Gerald Glenn presented a certificate from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, and Butch Henderson presented a certificate from Birmingham Metro Baptist Association. 

“Everybody really enjoyed it,” anniversary committee chair Carol Massey said.

Lunch followed the service and a group picture was taken by John Garrett.
